Lynn Vanwelsenauers - CP has lived in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for 34 years. She received a Bachelor's of Science degree from Michigan Technological University in 1990. She went on to NorthEast Metro Technical College in St. Paul, MN where she first graduated as a Prosthetic Technician in 1991. While working as a technician, Lynn continued the Prosthetic Practitioner Program and finished in 1993 and has been a Certified Prosthetist since 1995. In that same year, Lynn and her husband moved to Marquette, where she worked for the same company for 19 years serving the amputees of the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin as a Clinical Prosthetist and Clinical Manager. In 2014 that office closed and shortly thereafter, she joined the Teter family as a Clinical Prosthetist in the Marquette Area.
Lynn spent 8 years serving our country as a Health Services Technician in the United States Coast Guard Reserve and is very passionate about providing our veterans quality care and quality of life. She was the co-founder and director of Camp 'Yes I Can', a camp for children with limb loss or differences, where they learn that with positive attitude and hard work they can achieve anything they can dream. Lynn focuses on helping create what is needed for each person to return to life's activities and follow their dreams. On her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the outdoors by sweep-rowing, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and biking to name a few.
Michele Carlson - BOC Orthotist is a native of Marquette, MI where she graduated from Marquette Senior High School. She moved to Arizona and graduated from Bryman School where she became a certified medical assistant. Michele moved back to Michigan in 1994 and started working in Orthotics and Prosthetics in the Upper Peninsula in 1995. Michele first began as an Orthotic Fitter and then became a Mastectomy Fitter. In 2008, she went back to school to become a Pedorthist. She enjoyed that so much that she decided to become an Orthotist, and through a program of on-the-job training and classes, achieved her certification as a BOC Orthotist, in 2011. Michele joined the Teter family in 2014 at the newly-opened Marquette location.
Michele is passionate about the benefits of Bay Cliff Health Camp and about working to make a difference in the campers' lives. She enjoys working with the pediatric community, along with the elderly. On her time off, she spends time with her grandson and horses. While she is also fond of spending her summertime on the beautiful beaches of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
