Doug Hockenberger - CPO was born and raised in Dayton, OH. He attended Sinclair Community College where he received an Associate of Applied Science in 1997. He worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, where he worked with patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis including wound care, post-operative cardiac surgery, orthopedics and sub-acute rehab. Doug decided to change gears and began working for Fidelity Orthopedic, a 3rd generation Orthotics and Prosthetics company. He attained his Certified Pedorthist and Certified Prosthetist from the Board for Orthotic and Prosthetic Certification in 1999. Doug and his family moved to Saginaw, MI in 2001, where he completed his B.O.C Orthotic certification. He continued his journey north residing in Traverse City in 2003, working for a small local Prosthetic company. Doug met all of the educational and experience requirements to attain his American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2004. He extended his services to a large Orthopedic surgical group, applying his skills as a Physical Therapist Assistant and ABC certified practitioner while working alongside surgeons, therapists, nurses and medical staff. In 2012, Doug joined the Teter Orthotics and Prosthetics family as manager of the Ludington and Manistee offices.
He enjoys all that the Michigan shoreline has to offer. Doug and his family can be found in town participating in local community events, fundraisers, and enjoying the local cuisine and craft brews. He also enjoys being a charter boat captain and working on the next great American novel. Doug has been married to his best friend for 23 years, and they have two children and a ridiculously spoiled bulldog.
