Limbs 4 Life
Teter Orthotics & Prosthetics in Traverse City, Petoskey, and other Michigan locations support an innovative charity called Limbs4Life. Limbs4Life is an offshoot of Midwest Medical Mission, which has sent volunteer medical professionals to the Dominican Republic to provide healthcare to the poor.
The focus of Limbs4Life is to provide artificial limbs and professional prosthesis fitting to those in need in developing countries. When our team arrives, the work is immediately rewarding; but the lines of hopeful people who need prosthetics is longer than what we can provide. Our volunteers pay their costs to travel for this important mission work.
How can you help us with our commitment to Limbs4Life? We always welcome monetary donations because we can use the funds for the materials required to fit amputees of all ages. We also welcome used artificial limbs that could make a life-changing difference in the life of someone in a developing country. You can donate limbs that you no longer use or make provisions in your will to bequeath them to Limbs4Life.
The need for help to afford prosthetic limbs is not limited to developing countries. Too often Americans are not able to afford new artificial limbs or have repairs made to a prosthesis. Our staff understands that prosthetics can be difficult for some individuals and families to afford, which is why at Teter Orthotics & Prosthetics we accept a wide variety of health insurance plans and individualized extended payment plans to help our clients get the support they require.
